Assistant Vice Provost for Counseling, Health, and Wellness
Biography
Dr. Tara Hicks is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner and the inaugural Assistant Vice Provost of Counseling, Health, and Wellness. Since joining ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ in 2011, she has served as a nurse practitioner and later as Medical Director of the Student Health Center from 2017 to 2024. During the pandemic, she co-chaired the university’s COVID response team, an experience that inspired her doctoral research on infectious disease preparedness in small to mid-sized universities.
Before her time at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ, Tara worked in community health clinics as a nurse practitioner and in intensive care as a registered nurse. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Health Systems Leadership from ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ, a Master of Nursing with a focus on infectious disease from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pacific Lutheran University.
